I hopped into my Rabbit pose in honor of Lunar New Year and the Year of the (water) Rabbit. It’s a perfectly aligned pose with the symbolism & meaning of this astrological sign and I hope you will join me today while we celebrate the kick off to this fortuitous year ahead!
Rabbit pose is also known as Sasangasana and it’s often performed at night because it has a very relaxing effect on the nervous system. Those who practice this regularly in the evening find that it aids in helping them fall asleep more easily. The pose not only lengthens the spine and stretches the back, arms and shoulders, it also stimulates the immune system. Rabbits are thought of as playful and gentle and the pose is spiritually aligned with childhood and new beginnings.
Rabbits are also symbols of fertility, luck and creativity as well as compassion and intuition. Cultures often associate them with springtime and happy reminders that life is full of possibility. According to Chinese astrology, the Rabbit represents peaceful and patient energy and thinking before acting. With the addition of the water element in 2023, this year will help you tap into your intuition and inner peace. This is also an especially lucky year for those born under the sign of the Rabbit!
